What is a Registered Dietitian?

A Registered Dietitian is a healthcare professional specifically trained to be an expert in food and nutrition, translating the science and research of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living.  I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Virginia Tech, completed a 9 month Dietetic Internship, and passed a professional examination to receive my credentialing as a Registered Dietitian.

Expertise, training and credentials provide me with the tools for promoting positive lifestyle choices and translating facts from fads.  Learning to make healthy nutrition choices can help you decrease the risk of developing chronic disease and/or manage a current disease thus reducing the risk of future disease-related complications.

The services that are offered at Compassionate Eating, LCC are in-home consultations that are tailored to the needs of each client.  I can offer personalized nutrition plans for individuals of all ages, taking into account food preferences, and social, ethnic, and economic needs.  Only a Registered Dietitian can provide a meal plan for an individual dealing with acute or chronic disease, such as diabetes.

Please contact Compassionate Eating, LLC if you are interested in acquiring my dietetic services or if you have any further questions or concerns.
